Adele’s latest album, ‘25’, was named the Album of the Year in 2017 Grammy Awards, which was held February 12, 2017. The third album by the British singer and songwriter also nabbed the Best Pop Vocal Album, while its lead song ‘Hello’ won the Grammys for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance—giving Adele a total 5 Grammys this year. The album ‘25’ was released on November 20, 2015, or almost four years after Adele’s second album, ‘21’, which was released in 2011. After taking a long break from the music industry to raise her child, Adele started writing songs for ‘25’ in 2013. So it took almost three years before ‘25’ was launched.
Its lead single, ‘Hello’, was first introduced around October 2015 (or a month before the release of the album). The music video, which was directed by well-appraised French director Xavier Dolan, was also released the same day and gaining more than 100 million views in its first 5 days. ‘25’ listed 11 songs in its standard edition, and all these 11 songs were written by Adele herself with the help of some other collaborators. Some of the most popular songs from the ‘25’ album, besides ‘Hello’, are ‘When We Were Young’, ‘All I Ask’, and ‘Send My Love (To Your New Lover)’.After its release, ‘25’ has been received very positively by both the critics and average listeners. It has been the fastest-selling and best-selling album in the United Kingdom, North America, and Australia for both physical and digital albums. Before the Grammys, ‘25’ has also been named the 50 Best Albums of 2015 by Rolling Stone Magazine and won the British Album of 2015 at the 2016 BRIT Music Awards. It is currently on the second leg of the tour by Adele, titled ‘Adele Live 2017’, that will conclude on July 2, 2017.
